Allen Xu began his piano studies with Carol Fifield in the Summer of 2016. For Allen the piano is a necessity in his life and will always be essential to him. No matter what, he always goes to the piano to lift his spirits even higher. Allen’s favorite composers are Frederic Chopin and Sergei Rachmaninoff. He likes the complexity, the harmonies and the emotional contrasts in their piano music.
Allen’s recent accomplishments include receiving Highest Honors with fellow studio pianist, Timothy Vo, at the 2019 Junior Duet Level of the District and State NCMTA Piano Performance Festival. In June and July of 2020, Allen received a perfect score of 100% on The Royal Conservatory Level 8 Theory Exam and received “First Class Honours” for “The Royal Conservatory” Level 8 Practical Exam.
Allen is a rising freshman at The Early College at Guilford in Greensboro, NC. He also enjoys playing the violin, tennis and chess. We are so proud of Allen and his progress.
